Traveling by car
|
|
|
To travel in Rumania you will need a (rented) car,
because public transport will not get you at the lovely places to see. For
some, like us as you can see on the picture in the left, the own car is quite
handy to take our luggage there. |

For people from Western Europe the fastest way by car
is driving through Austria (Passau-Vienna) to Budapest. There you will have
to choose the M3 to Miscolt to start your trip at Satu Mare, or the M5 to
Szeged to start in Arad. Travelling through Tjechia en Slovakia is awesome,
but takes time. |

A nice stop on your way is Gasthaus Mitter in Stadt
Haag near Linz in Austria and hotel Fenyves 27 km east of Nyiregyhaza. We
strongly advice not to drive when it is dark in Hungarian and Romania,
specially not after a long trip. |

People from the EU (and their dog) just need a ID-card
and car documents. You are allowed to import to the value of €175 goods a
person, apart from your personal belongings. Medicines and electronics are
not allowed to import. Alcohol and cigarettes are limited on your way
home. |
